The article presents a new concept for the creation and combustion of a hydrogen-air mixture in a spark-ignition engine. The concept consists in the direct injection of hydrogen into the engine's working space in the compression phase and during the development of the combustion reaction. This method allows control of heat release in the engine cylinder.
